Aaron Bakker
Adaptive design, prepress & production artwork for packaging
I connect brand systems to the press. Extending established identities across new packaging formats, and building the operations, standards, and workflows that turn artwork into finished pouches, cartons, and products we all use.
Operating at the intersection of creative, production, and project management.
Combining strong conceptual design thinking with deep technical expertise in packaging and print production.
Adaptive design
-
With valuable, wide ranging experience, my creative and technical talent to understand brands and their creative vision, and translate this insight to design new variant expressions, assets and formats that align with the original intent is my core strength. Quickly reading a brand's visual language, its typefaces, colour logic, spatial rhythm, and knowing what makes it distinct from category norms.
-
Hands-on knowledge earned at the press, running equipment, conducting press checks, and making real-time calls on colour, registration, and stock. That floor-level experience means every file I design is built around how it will actually print, not just how it looks on screen.
-
Managing projects end-to-end: scoping work, building timelines, coordinating suppliers and stakeholders, and keeping creative quality intact under deadline pressure. I understand the full pipeline because I've worked every part of it.
I love identifying what makes a brand distinctive. Then intelligently extending it across every format and platform.
Adapt & extend
Carry the creative vision across new packaging formats, variants, SKUs, and categories without diluting it.
Reading the system
Study the established brand identity closely enough to know what can flex and what can't, before changing anything.
Build the artwork
Translate design intent into accurate, print-ready files, dielines Prepped, substrates, finishes, and manufacturing all accounted for.
Validate & release
Check every file against stringent global artwork standards before it goes to press.
Production Art
Where brand
thinking meets
production craft
‘I've stood at the press while the work comes off the line, making real-time decisions on screening, registration, and colour with operators and clients.’
That experience doesn't just inform how I design for print; it informs how I manage projects, communicate with suppliers, and anticipate the production issues that never show up in a brief.
